My poor Dear Writer letter for relationshipping has been a screened placeholder since I put it up for my sign-up and I still haven't finished it. Well, it's kind of finished, I have every fandom and pairing covered, but I have a feeling I'm forgetting something crucial. I've learned that when I have that feeling it's most likely there for a reason. I'm going to give it another glance tomorrow and then unscreen and share it. If you're my mystery author, I'm so sorry for the delay. It's not personal, I just fail. :P

I like my assignment. It's a pairing I was prepared to get and I'm already toying with various ideas I might use. One requires acquainting myself with some canon I'm not terribly familiar with, but I'm curious and want to try it. I have a good feeling about this. Slightly nervous, but when am I not with ficathons?

So, that's two ficathons I'm doing. Well, RS's the only exchange one. fandomgiftbox is a lot freer when there aren't any assigned recipients, but I'm determined to do a few fills. They were fun last year. I ran out of time because I started so late but now I'm prepared to start earlier. Next week's going to be a bit busy for RL reasons but after that I should be able to focus better.

For the curious who haven't yet seen my tweet about it: Giftbox for meeeee. I narrowed it down to a dozen fandoms, and I'm mainly a fic/snippet kind of person so that's what I requested. :) I suck at prompts, even when I know they're really inspiring most of the time, and that shows in the sign-up. I should learn and list a ton of prompts somewhere so I could just c&p the appropriate ones whenever I need them.

I guess that means more on my to-do list for tomorrow.

My TOS and DS9 rewatches have been on hold for nearly two weeks now and I'm starting to suffer from slight withdrawal with the latter. :D I miss my Kira and Jadzia and Julian and disturbingly sexy Cardassians. But I felt the need to catch up with Pretty Little Liars and I'm so close to finishing it that I'll just try to handle the withdrawal. Another show I'm not sure I've mentioned anywhere. It's kind of a guilty pleasure, being more a teen show than what I'm probably expected to be watching, but it's fun and I refuse to feel guilty for watching something I find entertaining. And hey, their parents are from my teen show casts so that makes it ok, right? :D I'm at the end of S6, only a couple more eps and I get to start S7. I've been spoiled by a few things (like I was with A's identity) but that's ok. And I have a few ship issues but that won't surprise anyone who knows me. (For one, I like the new ship and will be a bit disappointed when they go back to their old ships. Which are nice, yes, but why does this show think every teen pair should stay together forever?)

Book* time now. Then bed time. What a wild Friday evening I have.

*Isfolket reread number umpteen, since my last one got interrupted around #30. Now on book #16. (Ingrid! Rune! You know, sort of.)

I went through my LJ flist earlier today and took out accounts that haven't been updated in literally years. In the occasion that there was a very shy lurker still reading but not updating, and said lurker wants access to my updates, drop me a note somewhere.

I thought about a couple fic exchanges, but it's looking like a no for both. I like the idea of the first one, but I'm not totally in love with the execution, so I should probably skip it. No point in stressing myself with something I'm not sure of right from the start.

Then, I was looking forward to doing Rare Pair Fest again, but I didn't nominate anything myself this time. Now I can't find a nice lot of fandoms and pairings I'm comfortable with writing. Since these are all other people's nominations, it means they're things they want to read, so offering my fandoms wouldn't have helped much. They would've been things I'd like to read or write, not things others really desire to read. So it looks like I'll just wait and see if people write the few lovely things for others so I can read them and skip the writing part.

I'm not saying I can't write anything outside a challenge, but I've found they push me to write when I don't necessarily feel like it. Also, you know, the prompts. They give ideas, new perspectives, and good excuses to watch or read something again. I still have a couple days left. I suppose I could go with the minimum of three offers and three requests. I'd prefer to max out both, just to give and have options, but the minimums are there for a reason, right?
