Dear Chocolatier,

Wow, I haven't written any exchange letters in eons. Was it always this hard? I'll keep this short-ish and simple. Most of my gushing happens in the prompts sections. :)

My likes and DNWs here are taken from my sign-up. I haven't changed a whole lot since my previous letters so in case you wander off and see something interesting there in my other likes, chances are very high it still applies.

LIKES: Canon divergence, fix-its, hurt/comfort, first times, angst, forced to share a space, friends to lovers, enemies to friends to lovers, touches, unexpected tenderness, time travel tropes of all kinds (time loops, fixing what went wrong, visiting past/future, etc.), sweet and cozy moments, and I never turn down a convenient amnesia/disorientation trope

DO NOT WANT: Rape/noncon, unrequested main character death, terminal illness, kidfic, acquiring pets, daddy kink, D/s, humiliation

The rape/noncon DNW means I don't want more uncanonical noncon between the ship. Referring to canonical noncon is ok. Rape backstories are ok if you feel it makes sense for the character.

The prompts and commentaries vary in length, but rest assured, I want each and every one of these and would be pleased to get any of them. I would request even more canons if I could. If I didn't want a ship I wouldn't request it.

The prompts are just ideas and I won't be upset if you don't use any of them. So you're totally free to use your own, or tweak a prompt, or if a prompt from another canon sparks an idea then please run with it. If you decide to check out some of my older sign-ups/letters and find a like or a prompt that speaks to you, go with that one. I'd like to think I'm easy to please.

I'm fine with all tenses and all POVs. If using 2nd person POV, I'd prefer it to not feel like reader fic, though.

I'm not a fan of poems as fics, and I tend to stay away from fics that are all epistolary and nothing else, but fics featuring these elements (so letters, emails, notes, poems, journal entries etc.) in addition to regular prose can be wonderful. I can see them working great for Ashby/Edgar, for example.

I've mentioned DNWs but I have no triggers. My DNWs are just things I intensely dislike or am very picky about, so they might ruin a fic for me a bit but that's all.

Any level of violence up to and including graphic is fine, as long as it serves the story somehow.

Fandoms under the tag, in alphabetical order:

13 REASONS WHY (TV) [Montgomery de la Cruz/Winston Williams ** Montgomery de la Cruz/Tyler Down ** Tyler Down/Bryce Walker ** Zach Dempsey/Alex Standall]

DARK MATTER (TV) [John Anders/Six ** Kyle Kierken/Three]
DASHING IN DECEMBER (TV) [Heath Ramos/Wyatt Burwall]
THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM (2016) [George Flood/John Kildare]
ROSWELL NEW MEXICO (TV 2019) [Alex Manes/Michael Guerin]
STARGATE - ALL MEDIA TYPES [John Sheppard/Todd the Wraith]
STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE [Julian Bashir/Miles O'Brien]
YOSSI (2012 FILM) [Tom/Yossi]

Now, onto the prompts. There are some canon-specific DNWs as well, so check those out. I've also tried to explain how I'd like some characters to be dealt with (mainly spouses/canon love interests).

13 REASONS WHY (TV)
Montgomery de la Cruz/Winston Williams
Montgomery de la Cruz/Tyler Down
Tyler Down/Bryce Walker
Zach Dempsey/Alex Standall

Canon-specific DNW: Characters remaining/turning into enemies when the fic is over. Positive or neutral outcomes are both fine.

Additional note for this: It's ok to feature noncon and violence that happens or is shown or mentioned in canon, even in graphic detail. So including or alluding to canonical noncon, beatings, domestic violence etc. is fine.

For each one of these, I'd definitely like an "everyone necessary for the plot lives" fix-it or some kind of a canon divergence, but if that's not your thing then setting the fic during canon when they're still alive works, too.

Monty/Winston: What a horrible beginning they had. I know this is easily very out of character, but I'd love to see Monty do his best to make up for what he did, the sweeter and more caring, the better.

Monty/Tyler: This is even more horrible. In real life I can't see them ever being able to get past what happened, and even trying to forgive is a hard thing to do. But in fic? Yes, please. If that's too unrealistic and mushy for you, I'd also like an honest conversation between them. Just no more physical or verbal abuse, please.

Tyler/Bryce: I would've liked to get more of this relationship. They obviously talked, and Bryce tried to become a better person. Would this have worked if he'd been given the chance? I absolutely loathe the way he was killed off, more so than any other character that died, so if you could avoid focusing on his death that'd be great.

Zach/Alex: I shipped them from the beginning, even when Alex was supposedly straight. Too much chemistry there. :D Zach helping Alex recover is just one of my favourite aspects about their friendship, but I'd take anything with them, happy or a little sad with a hopeful ending.

THE ALIENIST (TV)
John Schuyler Moore/Laszlo Kreizler

Note: I also ship John/Sara, John/Laszlo/Sara and Laszlo/Mary, so please don't bash these ladies or any others John and Laszlo are/have been involved with. A simple "we didn't work out" is fine. If there's a case, having Sara and her people work on it as well would be great but not necessary.

Laszlo is a very intellectual and in many ways a (book)smarter person than John, but I love it when John gets to shine as well. On the show we focus on the alienist's side of case solving. Give me a moment where John does the work and Laszlo watches.

John draws Laszlo. Laszlo doesn't know such a sketch exists. Then he accidentally finds the picture. Oh. Ohhh, that explains a lot. (Definitely wouldn't say no to fanart of this sketch. :D)

You can never go wrong with another crime case. Maybe there's a new psycho in town and it's hunting one of them or one of their friends. Or does one of them have a stalker? A blackmailer?

Working undercover at whatever functions as a gay bar at the time could be fun. Or a masquerade or a ball! Because two men dancing is love. If only one of them knows the other one's identity, it's even yummier.

John's trauma caused by S1's rape returns to haunt him. Perhaps at an inconvenient time. (That rape DNW only applies to John/Laszlo. Feel free to go as detailed as you need, or gloss it over and focus on the healing process if you prefer. I have no triggers here.)

Something completely different from canon: Trip to the countryside, maybe fishing or camping, somewhere that isn't a city. Or maybe one of them has a hideaway of his own and invites the (unsuspecting) friend over for reasons?

Or, you know, a seduction and some sexy fun times in some corner of a train car while they travel from one place to another. Just don't let anyone catch them doing it because it gets too close to my humiliation DNW. I'm more about the urgency than the possibility of someone seeing.

Bonus crossover prompt: On the teeny tiny off chance you know The Limehouse Golem, I like the idea of these two canons crossing paths, with or without any needed time tweaking. Maybe Laszlo has read about the Golem cases and offers his theories (whether accurate or way off) via letters, maybe Kildare needs the help of an alienist he's read about or met, or whatever reason you can think of for either couple crossing overseas.

THE CHRISTMAS SETUP (2020)
Ashby/Edgar Carol
Hugo Spencer/Patrick Ryan

What a sweet, cozy little movie. The world needs more romantic LGBT+ Christmas movies. Regular movies, too! And these movies need fics. Lots and lots of fics. I only chose these two tags but I love their friendships, too, so any character is free to join.

Ashby/Edgar:

I love whoever nominated this ship, so thank you!

How did they first meet? Were they friends or acquaintances, or did they meet later? How did they end up together?

Ashby's name is D. Ashby but on the back of the photo Edgar calls him Ashby. It feels like a really sweet personal choice. How did that happen?

They travelled over the world. I'd love a moment from one of their trips.

That sweet photo. Who took it and how did it all happen, and did the photographer know they were a couple? Were there more photos we didn't get to see?

While I'm not really into modern wedding fics, I love it when couples create their own union, deciding that while the world may not agree they consider themselves married. I'd love a ceremony or a conversation like that, whether it's with a group of friends around them or just the two of them in secret.

Hugo/Patrick:

A dorky guy and a good-hearted sweet guy together should be a cuteness overkill but they're adorable.

A moment from their past when Hugo was having a crush on Patrick. Or maybe Patrick tried to hit on him instead but Hugo simply did not get it?

A canon divergence to keep them apart for a while longer: Hugo decides to go to London after all. Then obviously regrets it. Whether he travels back or Patrick goes to London is up to you.

Give me an argument they have, break my heart a little, then mend it by the end of the fic.

Or just go with more of that canon sweetness. How's their everyday life after Christmas is over? How's their New Year's Eve, or a random Wednesday in the middle of April?

DARK MATTER (TV)
John Anders/Six
Kyle Kierken/Three

I could have picked so many ships, I love this cast so much. Anyone else is welcome to show up, all of Raza, any guests, anyone.

And honestly, I'd take whatever you want to write. Canon divergence, missing scene, different ending, all that and more. Only reason I have trouble giving out a ton of prompts is that I want all the fic, whether it's a piece from the bigger plot or a casual moment from their everyday life, before, during or after canon. As long as my ship is there, inhabiting the same space, I'm the easiest recipient to please.

Anders/Six:

Amnesia gone wrong. Varrick went to work undercover and got his memory wiped, and he has no idea someone is desperately waiting to hear from him. And when Anders does hear from him, Varrick has no idea they even know each other, and Anders has to figure out how to tell him.

"This is their game, and we are just their soldiers. We don't push back." Except when they do. Because going rogue together is great. Could be applied to something not seen in canon. (Quote from 2x01)

I'd also love something pre-canon, maybe something about their work, a case they to do together, or what happened at the academy, or just a lazy day off drinking beer.

Blink drive, alternate universes, and meeting another version of Anders. (This prompt would go great with Kierken/Three as well, with another Kierken maybe? I prefer our Six and our Three, though.)

Kierken/Three:

Their cat and mouse game is delightful. What turns it even better is them ending up in a situation where they realize they are in fact on the same side.

Maybe Three doesn't get away from Kierken and does in fact get caught. A tense interrogation ensues, and Kierken makes a decision whether to keep Three or let him go. Or maybe Three let himself get caught deliberately?

Or it's the other way around and the crew of Raza catch Kierken instead and try to talk some sense into him. I just really like the idea of Kierken on board.

Clones. You can never go wrong with clones. Like how complicated things might get when Things happen and then get forgotten due to clone death. Or is this dubcon? I wouldn't mind. (This would work great for either ship, tbh.)

In 2x11, Kierken re-enacts the kills while analyzing the scene. Would be a fun twist if it wasn't just because he's good at interpreting details but because there's a connection between him and Three. Not full telepathy, more like occasional glimpses of each other.

DASHING IN DECEMBER (TV)
Heath Ramos/Wyatt Burwall

Yay, more LGBT+ Christmas movies! And it has those wonderful tropes I should hate but secretly don't. Like the Lindsey thing with Heath's obvious jealousy and the revelation that "she" is a man and oh, Wyatt's not a homophobic straight jerk, he's actually a gay jerk, who of course isn't even a jerk anymore by the time the movie ends. And the moment when a guy you thought had all the confidence in the world is suddenly almost too afraid to slow dance with a guy. Tough guys having weaknesses, yes please. So obviously I'd be into whatever (tropey or less tropey) romance goodness you can think of.

One of my favourite lines is Heath's "Broken but happy to have each other." Give me a moment showing how the two of them are broken. A personality trait or a flaw, an experience that hurt them or made them vulnerable.

Wyatt is Heath's first boyfriend. Those rarely last forever, except in movies. Give me their first argument, first break-up, first heartbreak. But please, don't let it end in heartbreak.

How do they work as partners? Both at work and at home. I'm generally not into curtainfic but with these I'd enjoy some random domestic moments of their everyday life where they move in together.

And the obvious: Their first time. I think it might be Heath's first time as well, seeing as the only relationship he mentions as even remotely serious was with someone he didn't even manage to have a date with. How does it go? (Personally, I think it's a bit of a mess, figuratively and also literally, but they make up for it by being so damn adorable and in love. :D)

THE LIMEHOUSE GOLEM (2016)
George Flood/John Kildare

Two of my favourite moments between these two: Flood tells Kildare he's "on Kildare's side", and Flood tries to reassure Kildare by putting his hand on Kildare's. He's just so open and trusting and sweet, almost worryingly unafraid of showing who he is. I love the contrast between this eagerness to show kindness and Kildare's very restrained and cautious demeanor.

I'd love more of these moments, ones where their personalities clash. Maybe Flood's openness gets them in trouble, maybe it saves them (or just Kildare from doing something stupid when he thinks no one in the world would care).

I have a fondness for very closed-up and restrained people eventually breaking and admitting they in fact do need other people and physical desire is normal and They Are Worthy.

At the end of the film, it looks like Flood's on a date with a guy, and Kildare's almost startled to see them. Who is the guy and are they really together? What goes on in Kildare's mind? Does he pull away even more, does he act grumpy (and jealous-ish)?

Flood and Kildare work on another case together, whether by choice or because they're forced to.

Bonus crossover prompt: On the teeny tiny off chance you know The Alienist, I like the idea of these two canons crossing paths, with or without any needed time tweaking. Maybe Laszlo has read about the Golem cases and offers his theories (whether accurate or way off) via letters, maybe Kildare needs the help of an alienist he's read about or met, or whatever reason you can think of for either couple crossing overseas.

ROSWELL NEW MEXICO (TV 2019)
Alex Manes/Michael Guerin

Note: Please, no Maria bashing. Also, no endlessly bitter and jealous Maria.

Any kind of hurt/comfort scene, from physical injuries to emotional hurt, is lovely. For some reason I just love seeing Michael in some kind of pain and then Alex comforting him, or Alex being hurt and Michael making it all better. Sorry, guys, but you hurt so pretty.

A moment from their past when they were teenagers or before Alex leaves to join the military.

Either one is dating someone else and the other one has to watch and wait. Eventually it pays off.

All the ways Michael appreciates Alex's body.

I love it when Michael gets to show how smart he really is. And of course Alex loves him for it.

Something with a guitar? I don't know, I just love a guy who can play something or sing or both.

Aliens, UFOs and space mysteries! Men in black, cover-ups, strange objects, shapeshifters, all that. Expand on the known mythos or do your own. I love it when people make up their own theories and run with them.

STARGATE - ALL MEDIA TYPES
John Sheppard/Todd the Wraith

Canon-specific DNW: Fic focusing solely on xeno porn. I don't mind xeno and I do like porn, but if it's only kinking on alien genitalia and the alienness of it all, that isn't my thing.

I could've easily added half a dozen ships here, because this canon is so shippable, but I really want to focus on this delicious couple. :D My DNWs still apply but with Todd it's easy to veer into the dubcon/predatory side of things, and I'm definitely open to that as well. I love them as friends and brothers in arms, so more of that would be fantastic, but I also love it when there's a hint of danger, of John not knowing if Todd is safe (when he is, of course - I don't like Todd actually being the enemy and a total monster). Todd playing with John a bit like he's prey, but prey he's very fond of, you know?

Getting stranded together is always a wonderful trope to use, whether it's on a planet or a ship. Imprisonment works, too, with or without added torture.

If one of them is injured? Yesss. Either one hurt has its own delicious upside, because neither is willing to show weakness in front of the other, so I'm not picky.

Working as allies against a common enemy always works. If it's against some other wraith, then Todd being protective of his human and not giving him away to use as supper? Yum.

Could be interesting to see how Todd handles things being on Earth, among humans. I mean, it must feel like a buffet, for one. :D But also dangerous in a way.

I'm familiar with all SGs and like them all, so if you feel like borrowing a bit from SGU or SG-1, feel free. Introducing Todd to the other alien races could be fun.

STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE
Julian Bashir/Miles O'Brien

Dealing with Keiko: Set this before Miles/Keiko is a thing, or give them an amicable break-up. An open relationship is also fine, or they could be separated. Even a sadder, wish-it-didn't-come-to-this divorce is acceptable. Or Keiko doesn't even exist? The only variation I DNW is a hostile break-up with either one of them actively insulting the other in the fic.

Some of my favourite episodes with Miles are the ones where he's put through the wringer, because I love hurt/comfort and angst and he gets plenty of both in such delicious ways. I would love an episode tag/missing scene where Julian tries to fix what's been broken. I enjoy both the hurt and the comfort side of h/c, so don't worry about the balance. The hurt can be physical or mental.

It would work the other way around, as well. How would a non-doctor deal with a very wounded doctor who's unable to give him any instructions?

From my DNWs, either rape/noncon or character death (with the character then brought back to life in some way, be it through a device or a time travel element or whatever - I really don't want either one to remain dead) are ok to use here, as long as the noncon isn't Julian/Miles and the one killing Julian isn't Miles or vice versa. Although mirror!character as the assailant could make it interesting... Or is that taking it too far? :D

While I like my angsty h/c a lot, I'm also into less horrible things, I swear! Maybe a casual date on a holodeck, a game night at Quark's, or one of their adventures gone wrong due to a technical glitch. Or they just try to keep their relationship on the down low under Odo's watchful and suspicious eye.

YOSSI (2012 film)
Tom/Yossi

Thank you, nominator, for reminding me this exists. <3

I love the portrayal of what I interpret as depression. Or maybe not quite depression but more a fear of living? Permanent state of grieving? And self-esteem issues, self doubt, and just trying to get through the day. It all feels so real, the muted greyness of everyday life. And then Tom shows up and lights it all up and is so persistent that no one can resist him. <3

At the end Yossi says they should stay there forever. Obviously they can't, but I'd love to see how long. What's it like to live in that bubble?

It has to end some day. How does Yossi return to his life, his job, and how does Tom fit in? Alternately, does Tom go back to military and can they make it work? I'd love to see the post-canon events from either one's POV, so feel free to go with whichever speaks to you more.

Yossi finally sees Tiesto with Tom. Or does some other Tom-only thing. Because Tom already does things he likes, and he wants to return the favor because he cares.

I want all the reassurances and encouragement from Tom towards Yossi, in bed and outside, because it's wonderful. Body worshipping isn't even my kink but here we are. :D I just love the way Tom shows Yossi he's perfectly fine being imperfect and I want more of it.

Lior's dad seems wonderfully accepting of his son, even when he doesn't say it out loud. I'd love a cameo of sorts where they catch up, be it at some random cafe or some street corner by accident or maybe they visit the cemetery at the same time.

I've seen and loved Yossi & Jagger, so I'd also love some kind of a conversation between Yossi and Tom about Yossi's past and maybe Lior, him opening up and explaining why he is the way he is.

My AO3 for possible treaters: [archiveofourown.org profile] Mimm
I've requested fanfiction for all of these, but there's a tiny fanart idea under The Alienist re: a sketch.
