I signed up for both 10k and 2 x 5k and I'm genuinely happy with either. And if you're a treater, yes, I'd be happy with something significantly shorter as well!

All tenses, all POVs, any rating from G to E (for violence or porn), it's all welcome as long as it avoids my DNWs.

So, hi! We obviously share a fandom or you wouldn't be here. Maybe you've read my letters before, maybe this is the first time. I'm trying to keep this as clear as I can but if something unclear or it sounds like I'm saying contradictory things, please don't hesitate to ask via a mod and I'll happily clarify.

I like so many different types of fics it's always a struggle to come up with prompts, but I'll try adding some thoughts at least. Many are copied from previous sign-ups because I am overwhelmed and I fear I will never get this letter done if I have to start from scratch.

My likes list is long and sprawling and includes everything and the kitchen sink, but they really are all things I like (especially the kitchen sink!), so you can't go wrong with picking one or more and combining them into something instead of going with a prompt. Other people's ideas always seem so much better than my own, anyway. :D


DNW:
Noncon between ship characters (noncon by others = welcome), unrequested permanent ship character death, focus on children/pregnancy/being a parent, focus on pets, highschool/band/coffeeshop/etc. AUs that drastically change the setting, crossovers or fusions, omegaverse, bestiality, scat, daddy/mommy kink, smoking weed, focus on food/cooking, unrequested poly, pre-ship fic, ship characters as asexual or aromantic, trans/neurodivergence headcanons

LIKES:

* Getting together, first times, new experiences, new feelings

* Complicated feelings/relationships, inner conflict, internalized homophobia, themes of guilt or shame, esp. when met with trust and reassurance

* Friends to lovers, enemies (to friends) to lovers, enemies joining forces to fight a common enemy, falling for someone who's unavailable (either taken or not into character's gender, or so they think) and pining, UST that gets resolved

* Older characters pining for younger ones or vice versa thinking they wouldn't have a chance

* A gay-for-pay situation (for undercover reasons or as a means to get money) with a feelings realization (esp. when they try to fight it)

* Emotional and physical hurt/comfort, e.g. having to watch the other be hurt, or being forced to lie/hurt to save the other, wounds and cuts, broken bones, dizziness, nausea, fever due to poisoning etc., helping character with addiction (less into period cramps, stomach bugs and runny noses as main hurt)

* Forced closeness, casual intimacy, invading the other's personal space

* Touching, esp. if it's not intended as sexual/romantic at first, intentional or accidental (esp. neck and lower back)

* All imaginable time travel tropes (loops and groundhog days, visits to past or future, fixing things, getting stuck in wrong time, distorted pass of time, correspondence between people separated by time, ending up/visiting in alternate timelines...)

* For time loops and time travel: Having to witness the other one die (and all the angst and helplessness) and finding out a way to stop it

* Canon divergence AUs, roads not taken, what-ifs, fix-its, break-its (that get fixed), missing scenes, reinterpreted scenes, post-canon, pre-canon

* Different first meetings, only one character remembers they've already met before (and maybe even hooked up)

* Horror elements like ghosts, possessions, haunted places and items, curses, exorcism, creepy doppelgängers, things living in one's home

* Scifi elements like dimension travel, alternate realities, telepathic links, being in the other character's dreams/nightmares, devices that make a character live in a reality that turns out to be fake/simulation, planted false memories and finding out they're false

Marcus/Stephen

So, let's get the most obvious thing out of the way first: Their marriage. :D I will always love to see something related to that. Maybe they are literally, officially married to make it airtight, and that's causing a whole new set of problems once the mission's done. Maybe Marcus decides to celebrate their fake anniversary as a joke but things get out of hand and it turns into an actual date. (Note: I already got the most excellent gift for this and I love it to bits, but I will never turn down alternate takes so I'll keep this here.) Or there's some sparring accident and he needs to be treated. Or it's all very angsty until Stephen finds away to wake him up. Or all the ways Marcus drives Stephen up the wall. I'm not picky at all.

Additional thought for canon divergence: What if Marcus does "die" but gets revived after several years has passed (5-10? more?). How would that work out? Could be Stephen's hard work or could be by someone we haven't met yet, and Marcus waking up is something Stephen thinks is closer to a miracle, so he's overwhelmed by the idea that he gets a second chance. I've requested Marcus/Stephen here and there throughout the years so you should be able to find other thoughts floating around.


Marcus/Neroon

I enjoy the way they really don't seem to get along at first, but there's still something there that connects them. I adore that moment of laughter. <3 I'm also always fond of seeing the more Minbari side of Marcus, with him being a Ranger, but it could definitely be fun if he showed Neroon some very human things too. Neroon gets amnesia for reasons and it's a bit of a disaster, but somehow Marcus navigates it? Or they have to join forces and they get stranded and/or one gets injured. Or they get stuck in a time loop (or just somewhere in the past) together and it's a lot to handle.

The Bear (TV 2022)

Marcus Brooks/Luca (The Bear)

From a previous sign-up: This show is so good. It's intense and hilarious and heartbreaking and painful and somehow perfect. I love everyone. <3 But out of all the ships I ship, I keep going back to this one. Marcus is the sweetest, so kind and eager to learn and wonderful, and I just want him to get everything he wants and deserves. And they were so lovely with Luca, teaching and learning and bonding. I would love to see it become something more. Maybe a night out in Copenhagen? Marcus expects them to go to some club, but Luca has something totally different in mind and surprises Marcus? Just lot and lots of baking and cooking together, teaching and learning and exploring? Or later, either one dropping by to visit the other, whether it's for a work type event or just one of them wanting to see the other. Luca bringing Marcus ingredients in person, or just curious to check the place he works in.

Since I last requested this, S3 came, and their reunion made me very happy but I still want more, so much more. <3 Maybe Luca starts a new life close by and they work together more. Or maybe something happened in that party, or it set something new in motion, or maybe they have a minor falling out because of something that happened there and they need to fix it.

The Exorcist (TV)

Marcus Keane/Tomas Ortega (The Exorcist)

It's been a while since I requested this, but it's always there in the background, reminding me of itself and how good it was and how I still want it to continue. <3 So I'm borrowing from a previous sign-up that still feels relevant.

I'll admit that Marcus is my favourite on this show, though I very much enjoy the other main characters & many of the side characters as well (regardless of season). And I want him to be happy. Life's been too rough for him and he deserves some comfort and quiet and lots and lots of cuddles. Love his total disregard for personal space, and the way he can flirt with just about everything that moves. :D And I love the way he uses his hands. To touch, to express things, to console. I don't always have a hand thing but when I do I have it bad.

I love this ship and where it was going and how they were with each other. Anything set during canon or post-canon would be great. Continuing the business, travelling, trying to fix things and find peace. Quitting and settling down to do something else, not quite knowing what and how because it's so foreign. I wish I could come up with some simple, solid idea, but I can't. They're very "I just want them to figure out they want each other" to me.

Feel free to go wherever you want with the religious aspects, whether it's all nice and by the book, something dark and twisted and dirtybadwrong, or something else entirely. You can't offend me, I assure you, and nothing's too blasphemous for me.

Maurice - E. M. Forster

Clive Durham/Original Male Character (Maurice - Forster)

I occasionally reread this book (or watch the movie, and I think there's a weird hybrid in my brain that's a combination of all my fave bits from each) and I keep wanting Clive to be happy and comfortable and at ease, and I hope one day he will be. <3 So mostly I ignore the end of the novel, the idea that it'll never happen.

He's so repressed and filled with guilt and ideals he thinks he must strive for, and I'd love him to get out of that mindset. What if one day Clive meets someone who he's absolutely incapable of resisting both physically and mentally, and who's also very clearly into him, and he has to rethink everything because this is it, this is The One, and it's not easy and maybe he's tormented by it but he'll get there? Maybe he's widowed and older and wiser and feels free to choose another path, maybe he keeps seeing how happy other men can be and wants it for himself. Maybe it's his son's friend who keeps being incredibly flirty and looking for his company and what's a man to do? And there's always travel. Both ways, actually, so maybe someone from abroad comes and he's totally helpless to resist. Or any other idea you come up with! I'm honestly open to anything.

I know the tag says OMC but I wouldn't be the least opposed to this OMC being a character from or inspired by one of Forster's other novels. I think that could be fun. (Consider that DNW for crossovers/fusions void for this. As long as the background canon is Maurice I'm happy.)

The Persuaders! (TV 1971)

Brett Sinclair/Danny Wilde (Persuaders)

These two are just absolutely charming together. <3 They're so different and they clash, but they also fit together so well and I could watch them get flirty all day long. I'm totally okay with them flirting with women as well because it's who they are, but I'd still prefer any women being minor characters and the focus being on these two.

Anything from working on a case to ending up in peril with one saving the other would be great. Maybe they have to pretend being a couple for undercover reasons and Danny's going all in but Brett is very much not, until even he has to cave in because otherwise he'll blow their cover. Maybe there's some eccentric billionaire offering a job for one or both. Maybe one of them goes missing. Or any other idea you have!

Severance (TV)

Irving Bailiff/Burt Goodman (Severance)
Peter Kilmer/Mark Scout (Severance)

I just want these people to have all the good things and be happy. <3 This entire world and concept is fascinating and I'd love anything that touches on the worldbuilding aspects, but I'm also happy for any brief moment of happiness (or, you know, creepiness :D) between the ships.

Mark/Peter

I love the idea that they had something (very innocent, considering they're being watched) when they were both still severed, but now Mark is unaware of any of it and Petey has to try and deal with it. How does he tell Mark? They don't know each other outside workplace but I'd be open to a situation where they have actually met before, maybe even more than met, and it's just that Mark doesn't remember Petey's face anymore, or the concept of him (apart from something that still lingers) for whatever reason. I'd definitely love Petey staying alive, some way.

Irving/Burt

They're so sweet. I'm especially fond of Irv who's so eager to see this new friend of his, like he's suddenly come alive after a long hibernation, and I'm all for him finding a way to (re)connect with Burt. Honestly, I'm good with any combo of innie and outie with this one, they're all fascinating options. Innie!Irv already likes innie!Burt and vice versa, but how does it go with innie!Irv and outie!Burt? Or have their outies met already, and how? What does outie!Burt do when innie!Irv turns into outie!Irv (and how would that even happen?)?

Starsky & Hutch

Ken Hutchinson/David Starsky (Starsky & Hutch)

They're just so very intense about each other and I love it. <3 And honestly, there's so much potential for everything with these two. Like all the undercover stuff (both short-time for a small case, like for a night or two where they attend a party, and longer where one has to infiltrate a group and there are meetings with a handler etc. and it lasts for months), and hurt/comfort and pining, and all the intense and meaningful moments of being really close to each other. They are so married already but they don't seem to realize it. They really should.

I can't decide which ones are my favourite episodes, but I'm 100% a sucker for any where one has to save the other, or one is about to die and the other one's close by, taking care and comforting or trying to find a way to fix it all. So like, being kidnapped and tortured, either just one that the other one saves and nurtures back to health and sanity, or both so they have to see each other suffer and lose it while the bad guys get creative? Yes, please! A weekend at some spa or a skiing holiday and their dates don't show up and now they're on their own? Go ahead. I don't think anything's too OTT or too tropey for this show and these two. <3

Whitechapel (TV)

Joseph Chandler/Emerson Kent (Whitechapel)

I just love this show, the cast, the characters, the paranormal-or-not-who-even-knows mysteries, the bizarre murder cases, and all the potential it had. And in case you wonder, I'm not averse to the gruesomeness at all! I thought it was sort of cool, heads in flowerpots and all that. I'm not squeamish so more of gruesome murder scenes wouldn't be unwelcome.

I would love anything from a regular work case to someone being in peril and needing a rescue, or someone getting hurt or disappearing. Or something that's definitely paranormal, like haunted places, more dead people talking through a medium, shadows just in the corner of your eye, all the spooky stuff. Or a day off, a night out, something more mundane. Or they need to work a case with another team for whatever reason and now it's us vs. them. Maybe there's a particularly nasty series of murders and the murderer toys with the team, or targets one (but not Megan, please).

I don't think I'll ever get tired of the idea of these two ending up together. It would've been perfect! So obviously I'll take anything that gives them that final push. Anything I've prompted for them before is still welcome. Kent rescuing Joe from eager women, someone getting hurt during a case, Joe having a terrible time and Kent helping him out, or maybe it's Joe who finds Kent spiralling and it's vice versa. Long days of work, insomnia, losing a grip on reality a bit... or just being unable to go home because there's something there that shouldn't be.
