Dear FFFX creator,
Hello there. :) I want to assure you that I'm an easy recip to please, so don't worry too much about writing for me. I love fics that are 10k and over, but I also love shorter ones (I mean, I sign up for things with 300 word minimums, so), so whichever way your muse runs, it's all good.
I've added some prompts but if they don't work for you, surprise me! I have plenty of likes, many of which can be tweaked to use as prompts, so I hope they'll help you out if the prompts themselves don't speak to you. Or if you only like half a prompt, take the bit you like and change up the rest to make up your own. Just avoid my DNWs and you'll do great.
DNW:
- noncon/rape between ship characters
- death of ship characters (temporary, presumed or faked for angsty plot reasons are great)
- bestiality
- A/B/O
- D/s
- daddy/mommy kink
- focus on pets, kids or pregnancy
- scat, emetophilia, watersports
- recreational drug use (getting drugged as an act of violence is good)*
- AUs that drastically change the setting (coffeeshops, college, band, etc.)
- underage (teens with teens is fine, otherwise 15-ish and up)
- unrequested poly or trans fic
- ship characters as asexual or aromantic
*For canons like AH or DM, it's ok if the plot involves a case where drugs are being sold and there are some users involved. I just don't want the ship characters doing drugs for fun (alcohol is 100% fine).
LIKES:
- canon divergence AUs, roads not taken, what-ifs, fix-its, break-its (that get fixed), showing glimpses of parallel realities Sliding Doors style
- missing scenes, reinterpreted scenes, post-canon, pre-canon meet cutes
- getting together
- friends or enemies to lovers
- unexpected feelings and struggling with feelings (incl. internalized homophobia if it fits the era/character)
- sexual tension and pining that gets resolved
- consensual incest
- older characters pining for younger ones (no grooming!) or vice versa thinking they wouldn't have a chance
- hurt/comfort (any type and any level for either)
- angst as long as there's hope by the end
- humour and banter
- working cases together (office, stakeout, business trip etc.)
- working undercover (that faked death mentioned as a non-DNW would work well here), concealed identity
- missions gone wrong (shooting, hostage situation, shuttle crash, getting caught, lost communication, caved in, stranded etc.)
- road trips, camping
- wilderness survival
- having to share a bed/motel room/cottage/tent/etc.
- "I had nowhere else to go" esp. with enemyships
- all kinds of accidental/deliberate touching
- watching the other sleep (touching's fine but I'm not into full somnophilia)
- first time doing something together (kiss, sex, visiting the other's place, meeting loved ones, fight, break-up that then gets fixed etc.)
- all imaginable time travel tropes (loops and groundhog days, visits to past or future, fixing things, getting stuck in wrong time, distorted pass of time, correspondence between people separated by time, anything really)
- visits to/from alternate universes, parallel dimensions
- elements of horror, haunted places, possessed items, ghosts, folklore being real, secret societies and cults
- for smut, I don't usually have a strong preference for who tops/bottoms (and in rare cases where I state a preference the other isn't a DNW), and I like most sex acts (anal regardless of gender, vaginal, handjobs, blowjobs, intercrural, fingering, pegging, rimming, sex toys or pervertables, condoms or barebacking, partly or fully clothed as well as naked)
Any POV, any tense, any rating (either for sexual content or violence). With a low rating, I'd still prefer it to not be pre-slash or shippy-if-you-squint.
In case there are canonical love interests/spouses, you're free to deal with them as you like. Never got together, didn't work out, broke up amicably, broke up and aren't exactly on the best of terms; all of these are good. I'd prefer minimal focus on these love interests (i.e. mentioning is perfectly fine, showing up as side characters is fine, but wallowing on why they're not together or making the break-up a big part of the plot are less fine).
Under the cut, in alphabetical order:
Almost Human (TV): Dorian/John Kennex
Dark Matter (TV): Three/One
Star Trek: Enterprise: J. Hayes/Malcolm Reed
Stargate Atlantis: Ronon/John, John/Todd
ALMOST HUMAN (TV)
Dorian/John Kennex
It's been a while since I last watched this but I'm doing my (third?) rewatch right now and yup, I still love this show so very much. It has androids and it's a buddy cop show and it has an android as a cop? The only way that'll fail for me is if the writing's cringy, and nope, it's not.
There's some fun scifi elements and worldbuilding, there's friendship, there's questionable boundaries incl. talking about a partner's testicles and showing him your junk. There's Dorian who is all kinds of perfect. <3 Why this didn't get a dozen more seasons I'll never understand. Of course I also like grumpy but kind John, and I also really like Maldonado and Rudy. I'm very open to anything here, as long as it involves this world and is shippy along the way.
Maybe there's a case they work on together. Maybe they need to do some undercover work, or one of them does while reporting to the other. Or maybe there's a human/android/anti-android war about to start, or other similar unrest in the city.
Or there's a nice, long weekend (or a longer holiday) and they decide to hang out together somewhere that isn't work (and then something disrupts their nice vacation, of course). Or do you want to go bigger and explore the Wall and what it means, or do some other worldbuilding? I'm definitely here for it!
What if Dorian malfunctions and does some damage, minor or major, or just loses his identity? Maybe he gets a virus, or someone gains access to his controls. What would it feel like for him and his sense of self/identity? How would John react?
All kinds of scifi tropes would go great here, but also cop show tropes, or any ship tropes. I'm not too picky. :)
DARK MATTER (TV)
Three | Marcus Boone/One | Derrick Moss (Dark Matter)
These two. <3 They make up for a nice antagonistic pair of guys. They're essentially two good guys, but they're good in such different ways that they might as well be a good guy and a bad guy (and no, the bad guy isn't always Three :D). I'm forever bitter we lost One and didn't get more seasons so we could've had him back.
I'm open to receiving just about anything here.
What if they'd already met before? What if they hooked up? What if there's other history? What if the amnesia wiped it all out and when they regain their memories they get these memories back as well? How would it change their attitudes (or would it)?
The obvious: What if One didn't die? What if someone was there to stop it, or he was just very badly wounded? Great spot for some hurt/comfort and a bit of vengeance, I'd say.
Time travel! Three going back to One's imminent death (a day before, an hour before, five minutes before, I'm not picky) to see it happen. Or a time loop with him going back over and over again until he can fix it. Maybe the time travel is deliberate, maybe spontaneous.
Or maybe One travels to the future and Three, a few (or more) years older and having already dealt with his loss, suddenly has to deal with a young and very not!dead One? He gets a second chance to do things he didn't, and One's all wtf is this, and then on top of that he needs to go back and hope he can change his own future.
Other versions of One could be great, too! I mean, it doesn't have to be the exact same version of One. It could be a clone, too. Or maybe Alt!One from another universe? How would that work out?
Or find a spot somewhere in canon and get them on a mission or a heist or whatever, and let the rest of canon happen around them as it does. I just want these two together, but how you get there is up to you. :)
STAR TREK: ENTERPRISE
J. Hayes/ Malcolm Reed
I just noticed that this is the second ship I request that really needs a death fix-it because canon had the audacity to kill a lovely character and I Am Not Okay With That. So obviously, if you can fix it, I'll love you. :D If you make the ship canon compliant even with the death? I'd still love you. My main wish here is just to get these two together, however temporarily that may be, but I admit I prefer a hopeful end.
The tension between them is wonderful. The way they compete and fight and argue. It almost looks like hatred at first, but it's clear it's not that. I like how Hayes is clearly fine taking orders because it's his job but Reed doesn't seem to accept that at all. He should be sensible and a professional, but he just can't keep himself in control when it comes to Hayes. How deliciously obvious you are, Malcolm. :D
As for prompts... Anything? I mean, I'd love a peek into either man's mind, to see what either one is thinking about everything that's happening around them and between them.
Teaming up for a mission would be great here. Or maybe a rescue mission, either to rescue one of them or them rescuing someone else.
The obvious death fix-it. Hayes doesn't die but is just wounded, maybe seriously (I'm fine with disability here, as long as he's not fully blind/fully deaf/quadriplegic). Things change between them after a near loss, or there's a long recovery ahead and Reed helps him out, or things get worse between them with Reed being angry with him for daring to nearly die. Really, I'm open for a lot of variations here.
Or throw in mirrorverse or time travel. What if Hayes dies and Reed meets up with another version of him?
STARGATE ATLANTIS
Ronon Dex/John Sheppard
John Sheppard/Todd the Wraith
I thought about narrowing these down to one ship but then realized I can't really pick. I enjoy both of these ships, as different as they are.
Ronon/John: I love these to buddies in arms. Ronon starts out as an outsider but he clicks with John and they become close, and they fight side by side, and when they visit Earth Ronon just follows along to visit John's brother like he's John's boyfriend. :D (Feel free to pretend he was. I actually like John's brother and the visit, so a shippy retelling could be fun.)
You can never go wrong with a mission, esp. if there's a disaster of some sort and they end up stranded or captured or in some other life threatening situation like getting shot or stabbed or poisoned. Or brainwashed so they think the other one's an enemy? That'd be cool. Space exploration and alien contacts and time travel mishaps, it's all good. But I'd also like a post-SGA setting where they're on Earth. Not a no-stargate!AU but something about living on Earth when they're so used to being space explorers and warring with the wraith (and other aliens). Or a mixture of both? That'd be great, too.
John/Todd: This is such a delicious ship. There's danger and a serious chance for either one losing their life in the hands of the other, but there's also an unexpected friendship and respect. I love the idea of balancing those two sides. I'd definitely enjoy an "us against them" kind of loyalty, but I'd also welcome some uncertainty. And if it involves Todd feeding on John and then giving it back (whether John agrees to either part or not)? Good.
I'd actually enjoy similar situations as with Ronon, i.e. missions, disasters and other highly inconvenient things ruining their perfectly good days. I'd love them crossing the enemy line and being on wraith territory, Todd protecting his human (and then John protecting his friend when the wraith decide Todd needs to die).
