Dear Fandom Growth Exchange writer,

Hi there. First and foremost, have fun! If you already have an idea, just check the DNWs and run. I'm easy to please and like various types of fic, so chances are I'll like whatever it is you were thinking of even before you looked at this letter. You're also free to browse my older letters for ideas if you want. For example, there are several hurt/comfort tags I've requested earlier this year that could apply here.

If there's anything you think needs clarification, ask through a mod and I'll gladly clarify. None of my DNWs are triggers, and I've yet to find a thing that is. These are things I either haven't enjoyed in the past or I like but am picky about.

Some entries are shorter, some are longer. Trust me, this is no indication of what I want more. :) I want all of these!

DNW:
- noncon/rape between ship characters (dubcon is fine)
- death of ship characters (temporary, presumed or faked for angsty plot reasons are great)
- bestiality
- A/B/O
- D/s
- daddy/mommy kink
- focus on pets, kids or pregnancy
- scat, emetophilia, watersports (vomiting or mentioning toilet etc. are perfectly fine)
- recreational drug use (getting drugged as an act of violence is good)

- watching the other sleep (touching's fine but I'm not into full somnophilia)

- all imaginable time travel tropes (loops and groundhog days, visits to past or future, fixing things, getting stuck in wrong time, distorted pass of time, correspondence between people separated by time, anything really)
- visits to/from alternate universes, parallel dimensions
- elements of horror, haunted places, possessed items, ghosts, folklore being real, secret societies and cults
- for smut, I don't usually have a strong preference for who tops/bottoms (and in rare cases where I state a preference the other isn't a DNW), and I like most sex acts (anal regardless of gender, vaginal, handjobs, blowjobs, intercrural, fingering, pegging, rimming, sex toys or pervertables, condoms or barebacking, partly or fully clothed as well as naked)

Any POV, any tense, any rating (either for sexual content or violence). With a low rating, I'd still prefer it to not be pre-slash or shippy-if-you-squint if I'm requesting a / ship.

I still wish we got more of this universe, years after. So much potential, knowing how big and awesome B5 became.

David/Dulann:

I love their relationship so much. ♥ They're like flirty BFFs who know each other really well, they're concerned for each other and seem to enjoy each other's company, and it's so easy to see it going a step further. I'm not kidding, imagining them as being a couple already is surprisingly easy. :D So yes please, I am here for it! I was years ago, I will be years from now. Any way you can make it happen, I'll take it.

Maybe something about their early days (so, 3 years ago) when they'd just met and were getting to know each other? How they became friends and as close as they currently are. Clearly they've spent time in each others' rooms, at least. :D Dulann seems a little skeptical about the new crew members. Not xenophobic, no, but less unwelcoming than David. Was he like that with David as well?

David jokes about how he'd be pissed too if Dulann was moving into his place. Well, funny that, because now Dulann actually does move in (for whatever reason, renovations or taking care of the other personally or any random paper thin excuse you can think of).

Awkward telepathy/empathy moments of revelation at inconvenient times? Sign me up! Actually, David as a latent telepath could be interesting too, or maybe he's drugged with Dust, or there's alien tech. Or Dulann's sensitivity is taken away and he's having a terrible time.

And then there are all these other interesting people! I chose a bunch of tags because they were there and feature characters I relate to a tiny bit more than others, but honestly? I'd take any ensemble stuff in any permutation, whether it focuses on any chosen two or more or a mix of them (like, for example, David & Sarah & Malcolm, or Kitaro & Malcolm, or Sarah & Firell & Na'Feel).

I mean, Na'Feel gets little screen time but seems like a fun, explosive, professional person and I can see her having the best time with Sarah. Sarah and David have their own thing and it's fun to watch. Sarah and Dulann don't seem to interact much but since both are great, why not join forces? They could always go and annoy David if they're bored. Kitaro seems really nice. What's he up to outside of his job, or how can he save the day (with his fellow shipmates or on his own)?

Any mission of the week type stuff would be wonderful. Maybe they get assigned something big, or just something really minor and mundane that's done in a day and they're just booooored. Any scifi tropes are wonderful so if you have a fave just go with that. I'd also enjoy a case that uses the holosuit for infiltration or spying, or maybe one of the others gets their hands on it and starts doing practical jokes with it. Or have them go visit Babylon 5. Maybe someone has a birthday, maybe someone loses a bet, maybe they get important intel about the Hand, maybe their lives are in peril. I'm here for the silly as well as the dark.

Oh, and I like the idea that Liandra is haunted and/or cursed. Bring on the spooky stuff! Or just a really helpful second crew that comes in handy at times but doesn't take any physical space. Or are those people literally stuck in a parallel dimension instead of dead? Someone should help them out of there. What other things haunt the ship? Do they catch a virus messing up the systems? A random living space bug?

Bonus: He's not in the tags, but feel free to throw in some Tannier as well. He seems like a nice antagonistic character with a stick up his ass. I find the contrast between him getting really angry at David for choosing life over death and then being all friendly and asking for Liandra as Valen's escort ship interesting. Even David's surprised by the clumsy attempt at an apology, if it was that. What's their history? What if he'd actually made it to an escape pod?

Actually, I kind of like the idea that he's into David but he thinks David is so infuriatingly Wrong and Human and almost beneath him as a Ranger so much of the time that it's more frustrating than something he'd put any effort into pursuing. And yet he can't stop, so he's torn between doing something about it anyway and just beating him at practice and hoping David gets the hint (which he obviously does not.. until maybe he does).

David Holst/Martin (Four More Years)

I can't believe it took me this many years to see this charming little thing! I love it. People coming out to themselves a little later in life is wonderful, and this did it in a way that made me smile.

I'd be happy with anything, honestly. I think the only thing I was really missing in the movie was a scene where the misunderstanding gets talked about and resolved on screen. But also, post-canon cuteness, canon divergence during the movie where things progress differently, pre-canon Martin trying to get David's attention, a different ending where David leaves the train instead (and Martin isn't there)? Yes to all. Or just pick a like and use it. Anything you can think of, really.

You can handwave the politics if that's intimidating and focus on everyday life things, or invent something of your own (serious or silly, up to you), or fully lean into it if you want, with campaigning and nosy reporters. Or maybe one or both left politics? What are they doing instead? (I wouldn't consider that a drastic AU, btw, if they've at least been in politics pre-story.)



STAR TREK: THE NEXT GENERATION
Hugh | Third of Five/Geordi La Forge

First, just putting it out there that I've seen Picard so you're free to use that as well, or elements of it that are useful to you. But I'm also 100% fine with ignoring all of it.

I love the first episode with Hugh (I, Borg). A thing that's closer to a robot or an android than a living person regaining their individuality, their sense of being someone, of mattering, of having choice and being heard and even cared about. Love it. I also love how the crew's view changes, and how he leaves this unexpected group of friends wanting to help them. (And on a shallower note, I just find Hugh very aesthetically pleasing. That whole Borg look he's rocking will never not look good to me.)

And then there's his bond with Geordi which is just so damn adorable. He's like a puppy who's finally found its favorite person! But also, it's like he's afraid of being alone so instead of that he instinctively latches onto something similar, and that happens to be Geordi. Maybe it's not the best way to find independence but baby steps are steps too. Maybe Geordi finds it awkward, maybe it's endearing and oh, so tempting, maybe it's not clear where the line should go and whether Hugh even understands what "a line" is.

Don't get me wrong, I do like the second episode as well (Descent Pt. 2). I love Data and Lore (so, so much) and then there's extra Hugh! But I am always, on every single rewatch, slightly bitter we don't get to see Hugh and Geordi meeting and reconnecting. Writers, what were you thinking?! I need to see those two looking at each other and smiling like fools and hugging (and then more)!

So I would really enjoy something showing the bond between Hugh and Geordi. Little pieces and moments, or something with a longer arc. Could be during the first episode, could be right after, could even be an alternate ending where he doesn't leave, or where he does leave but not as quickly. I really wanted him to stay onboard longer. Or you could go with post-Descent where they meet again and catch up and things evolve from there. Or if you can change Descent in a way that gets them together, please do! Or go further into the future for some post-canon fun. I just reallyreally want these two together.

I really like whoever came up with these tags. :D I love Barclay and I love these Vulcans, and I really like Tom and Harry too, and of course the Doctor as well. I have such a weak spot for people who don't quite fit the mold professionals probably should. So you're a bit more neurotic and unsure of yourself than a regular person, and seem like you're just fumbling along and people make fun of you, but you're really a smart, nice person? I like you. You're a bottled up Vulcan who's not supposed to feel or show emotion and definitely not act on it, but then your hormones and chemical imbalance get the best of you and you sort of lose control? Let me watch! Or you're not technically even a person but you fit the bill anyway? You should really get to experience life and living, including dating.

I don't even have any specific prompts in mind, I just see these and go "I want, please". You can always toy with pon farr and any accidental bonds. Holographic dates are cute. The Doctor suddenly can't just disappear into whatever place he usually goes but has to experience the mundane life, maybe including human feelings and needs? How uncomfortable.

There was supposed to be a case or shore leave or a mission but oops, there's a crash/magnetic disturbance/kidnapping aliens/a horrible sickness/random temporal anomalies/other convenient event forcing these two into close proximity (or a rescue mission and then close proximity). Yes, good. Barclay catching a break and getting the guy is good, too. I'm honestly here for anything you can think of as long as it's not in my DNWs. (As for things related to pon farr, I don't see a bit of aggression and pushiness as bad. I'm fine with dubcon. I just don't enjoy a full rape between my ships. Noncon as an act of violence by villains or a background for a recovery story? Definitely welcome.)
